Adding Edging to Parts

Modified on Mon, 9 Jun at 3:19 PM

Within this guide you'll learn how to add extra edging to parts by changing data in the WoodCAM database so it reflects on parts/panels in CADCode.

Reference Image Below:

The first image shows what edges are defined as within CADCode i.e - Length1, Length2, Width1 & Width2

Those definitions are referenced within WoodCAM's Access Database which is shown below.

In Access, the Parts table will have four columns that reference the above Lengths & Widths.

FinishTop: References Width1

FinishBottom: Length1
FinishLeft: Width2

FinishRight: Length2

To turn on edging for whichever part you'd like, you will need to change the 0 to a 1 in Access on the correctly named part.

After changing the required Finish side, within CADCode you can verify that the side that you require edging on, now has it applied.

IMPORTANT
An easy way to confirm which Finish you need to change in the parts database is by checking the side in CADCode first before changing the data in Access as different parts have different finish lengths/widths applied to them.

Some parts will have differently defined Width1, Width2, Length1 & Length2 due to the nature of their shapes and sizes, so confirming the correct side has edging applied is crucial.

This is how you can add extra edging to parts in WoodCAM's database that is reflected within CADCode.
