LED Routing in WoodCAM & BricsCAD

WoodCAM Options:

1. One solution for LED routing is to use the product *Machinable Part* within WoodCAM, where you can program the LED strip based on the specifications of the strip and where it is on a cabinet/material.

This will be a tedious process and will vary based on the size of the part and size of the route required for the LED strip.

Below is an example of the process
(These are not default settings, please ensure you enter all the details according to your panels and LED strip)

2. The last option and the easiest way to achieve the desired outcome for LED strips within panels is the Extra Machining Module.

The Extra Machining Module is designed with the intention of handling repetitive machining templates. The benefit of this module is that it doesn't matter what size the part is because all that's required is to change the distance from the *Front Edge*, the *Width of the Rebate* and the *Depth*.

Everything else is handled for you within WoodCAM.

Below is a demonstration of what is needed to have this programmed.

  • Load the template
  • Input the variables
  • Routing operations are handled for you and do not require your input

BricsCAD Option:

LED Routing can also be achieved through BricsCAD, however this process will need to be done every time a new order for LED routed panels is requested. This may become time consuming if you get this request often.

Another downside to this is, if you need to re-run a single panel for whatever reason, you're going to need to remember your previous configuration or save the file within BricsCAD.

Below is a mock-up to demonstrate the process.
